Teachers in Uzbekistan may receive a bonus of up to 1.02 million sum for Teacher's Day

Ahead of October 1 — Teacher and Mentor's Day — teaching and leadership staff at Uzbekistan's schools may receive a bonus of up to 1,020,000 sum. According to Podrobno.uz and Yuz.uz, the maximum amount equals 75% of the minimum wage (MROT), which has stood at 1,360,000 sum since September 1, 2026.

Why the amount grew

Presidential Decree No. PF-51 of March 19, 2025 raised the ceiling for bonuses paid from a school's "Director's Fund" from 50% to 75% of the minimum wage. Since the minimum wage rose to 1,360,000 sum on September 1 (Decree No. UP-115 of June 23, 2026), the maximum bonus grew as well — from last year's 953,250 sum to 1,020,000 sum.

What it means for parents

1,020,000 sum is a ceiling, not a guaranteed payout for every teacher: the actual amount depends on how much a given school's Director's Fund holds. Some schools may pay less — 50% or 60% of the minimum wage.
