First grade takes children who turn seven during the year of enrolment: for 2026/27 that means children born on or before 31 December 2019. Admission runs in two stages: 20 June to 31 July for the child's own catchment school, with guaranteed enrolment, and 1 to 31 August for other schools where free places remain.
The application is submitted online via my.gov.uz or my.maktab.uz, but parents bring the original documents to the school: the child's birth certificate, the parent's passport or ID card, the medical record (form No. 026), the vaccination record (form No. 063), photographs measuring 3.5 × 4.5 cm, and any documents confirming entitlement to benefits.
The admissions committee may refuse in only four cases: incorrect data in the application; a medical opinion that the child cannot study in a mainstream school; the child lacking basic conversational skills in the language of instruction; or no free places when the application is filed outside the place of registration. Private schools follow their own rules and accept documents directly.
